Roblox finally banned one of the creepiest people on their site and honestly, it’s about time. This guy, who went by HawaiianResortGamer (and a bunch of other names like Ben and SunrisePlayzStreamer), was literally running a “girls only” group to find kids to date. And yes, when I say kids, I mean 9 and 10 year olds. He wasn’t even subtle about it.
People have been calling him out for over a year. He got confronted multiple times, got reported over and over, and Roblox basically did nothing. Meanwhile, he just kept going, running a hotel roleplay game and doing these super weird YouTube sleep streams where he was barely clothed. At one point he even called his mom on video because people were confronting him about his behavior. It was all so bizarre.
Then out of nowhere, his main account got banned. But here’s the weird part – it wasn’t even for the obvious reason. According to him, Roblox banned him over some random vehicle assets in his game. Like golf carts and planes. Maybe they were stolen assets, maybe Roblox’s systems just flagged them, who knows. But right around the same time, the creepy “dating group” he started got locked too, even though he hadn’t owned it for a while. That’s what makes me think Roblox knew what was going on and just finally decided to pull the plug.
And to be fair, after this happened, Roblox started taking out his other alt accounts too. People were posting about it on Twitter, and Roblox actually banned them. Which is good, but honestly, why did it take this much noise to get action?
This whole thing should make people angry. He was openly talking about wanting to date kids, and it took over a year for Roblox to do anything about it. That’s a year of him finding more kids on their platform, talking to them, probably grooming them. Roblox likes to say they care about safety, but if it takes them this long to deal with someone this blatant, how many other predators are just hanging out in games right now?
I’m glad he’s gone, don’t get me wrong. But Roblox needs to be way quicker about this stuff. When someone is using your site to try to date kids, that should be an instant ban, not a year-long process. They should be IP banning people like this so they can’t just make a new account and keep going.
This isn’t just a Roblox problem either. Parents need to keep an eye on what their kids are doing online, because clearly the platform’s moderation isn’t catching everything. This guy got away with it for too long, and that should make everyone think twice.
