Roblox DevEx Just Got a Raise as Creators Earn 8.5% More

Finally a raise!

Roblox DevEx Just Got a Raise as Creators Earn 8.5% More

Roblox just gave its creator community some pretty big news: the DevEx rate has officially gone up. Starting today, anyone cashing out their Robux through the Developer Exchange program will now earn about 8.5% more than before.

This isn’t some future promise either as it’s already live. Any Robux you’ve earned after 10 AM PT on September 5, 2025 will now cash out at a rate of $0.0038 per Robux, compared to the old $0.0035 rate.

Here’s the easiest way to think about it:

  • Before: 10,000 Robux = $35
  • Now: 10,000 Robux = $38

That’s three extra bucks on the same amount of Robux. Sure, it doesn’t sound life-changing at first glance, but scale that up to hundreds of thousands (or even millions) of Robux, and it really starts to add up.

Robux earned before 10 AM PT on September 5 will still use the old rate when cashed out, so don’t be surprised if your payout page shows a mix of values. Roblox says they’re rolling out clearer breakdowns soon so group owners and collaborators can see exactly how much comes from each rate.

Why Roblox Made the Change

Creators are having a record-breaking year. Roblox is projecting that creators will collectively earn over $1 billion in real-world payouts in a single calendar year for the first time ever.

This bump in DevEx rates is Roblox’s way of sharing some of that growth back with the people actually building the games, items, and experiences that keep the platform alive. As they put it, it’s an “investment in creators” and a step toward giving Robux more real-world value.

If you’re already in the DevEx program, you don’t need to do a thing as the raise is automatic. From here on out, every game pass sale, microtransaction, or premium payout you earn will just be worth more when you cash it out.

And while Roblox hasn’t made any promises about future raises, this one signals something important: they’re paying attention to the creator economy. With creators driving the platform’s biggest successes, it feels like this could be the start of more adjustments down the line.

Honestly, it’s about time Roblox sweetened the deal a little for its creators. If players are spending billions on the platform, the people behind the games deserve a bigger slice of that pie. The question now is whether this will be a one-time adjustment or the beginning of a trend that makes building on Roblox even more rewarding.
