Roblox CEO Confirms Brazil Servers Are Live, Promises More Regions to Follow

Roblox players in Brazil just got a huge upgrade. CEO David Baszucki confirmed during a Q&A that Roblox servers are officially live in the country, which should mean way better performance and lower latency for players there.

In a recent Q&A, Baszucki confirmed what many players in Brazil have already noticed that the local servers are up and running. For anyone who’s ever struggled with lag, this is a big deal. It means smoother gameplay, faster response times, and fewer moments where your character freezes mid-jump while the game catches up.

Baszucki stressed how important this move is, not just for Brazil, but for the future of Roblox worldwide. “Two years ago, we knew how critical it is on local servers and latency,” he said. That might sound like technical jargon, but it really boils down to this: Roblox wants the worst performing experiences in any given country to run closer to 60 frames per second.

He even mentioned internal data showing a “P5 heartbeat rate”, essentially Roblox’s way of monitoring how games run across different regions. Brazil’s rollout is one part of a bigger push to make performance more predictable and fair no matter where you play.

Suprisingly, Baszucki says Brazil won’t be the last. “If we see a hot spot where we need servers, we’re going to put them there as well,” he promised. In other words, Roblox is watching where players are struggling most, and they’ll plant servers there next.

This feels like one of those changes that doesn’t get flashy headlines but really matters for everyday players. Lag is one of the most frustrating parts of online gaming, and if Roblox keeps delivering local servers, kids in São Paulo or Jakarta might soon have the same experience as kids in Los Angeles.

It’s also a sign Roblox is thinking globally in a serious way. For years, critics have said the platform is too US-centric. Moves like this show they’re listening.
