If you’ve been staring at that giant cave door in DTI wondering how on earth to open it, I’ve got you. I just finished the whole Secret Door Quest and I’m still kind of obsessed with how good it was. It took me a bit of wandering, some random clicking, and a couple “wait… what do I do now?” moments, but it’s actually not that hard once you know the steps. Plus, the prize is so cute you’ll want to show it off immediately.
Here’s what I did.
How To Complete the Secret Door Quest in Dress To Impress
Step 1: Grab the Book First
I kept running around looking for clues before realizing it all starts in the house. Go inside and check the dining table. There’s a book just sitting there like it’s waiting for you. Pick it up and you’ll get a little message saying you should return it to the school.
So yeah, head over to the school, drop it off in the classroom, and there’s a cute little animation where the first gem pops up. It’s purple. Nice and easy, good confidence booster.
Step 2: The Lantern Hunt
Now comes the fun part: lantern hunting. There are five of them hidden around the map and you need to click them all to make the yellow gem appear.
This part made me feel like I was doing a scavenger hunt as a kid. I just walked around the map slowly, checking every corner. The fifth one always feels like the most satisfying find because the gem just appears like “hey, you actually did it.”
Step 3: Make Everything Red
This part took me way longer than it should have because I tried every single color first. You know those lights you can click to change color? Yeah, make them all red. That’s it. Once you do, the red gem spawns and now you’ve got three gems down.
If you try blue or green first like I did, don’t feel bad. We all wasted time clicking lights like maniacs.
Step 4: Time to Break Stuff
Head back to the house. There’s a hammer you can grab near a broken-looking spot. Use it to smash the piggy bank. Honestly, this was my favorite step just because it feels illegal in a fun way.
Inside is a coin. The game basically tells you “maybe make a wish” so obviously you have to go find the fountain. Toss in the coin and you’ll find blue gem.
Step 5: Pot Clicking Simulator
The last gem is in one of the pots. Which one? Who knows. I just ran around clicking every single pot like I was cleaning up after a party until it finally gave me the green gem. It might be random, but it’s definitely in there somewhere.
Once you’ve got it, take a second to pat yourself on the back. You did it. You’ve got all five.
Now the fun part. Go back to the cave. The door is glowing and reacting and honestly it feels like you’re in a movie. Interact with it and get ready to be teleported.
Okay, so you get dropped into this little obstacle course. It’s not hard, but it’s actually pretty fun as you can bounce on bubbles, which feels way cooler than it sounds. Make it to the end and there she is: the Scarlet Dolly.
Honestly, this was one of the most fun little quests I’ve done in DTI. It feels like a real adventure instead of just “click five things and get a prize.”
I recommend sticking around in the new area for a few minutes because it’s gorgeous and you never know when DTI will sneak in an extra secret or hidden item.
